Social entrepreneurs are changemakers--people who want to make the world a better place by problem solving tough issues. Developing Lifelong Changemakers by Dr. Lani Frazier is a book that should be in every classroom for students at the secondary and post-secondary level that has an interest in making changes for people locally or globally. This book has been shared in my classroom for students that are interested in entrepreneurship and community service. I have requested that the marketing and business class purchase this book for students to use and to reference for projects related to entrepreneurship.The definition of a Changemakers has been created as a poster in my classroom and has sparked the interest of students. When students have questioned this word "changemakers", I hand them this book to read and reflect on to how they could help make social changes for others around the world. Having this book available in the high school classroom will only prepare and introduce social entrepreneurship and the issues around the world. After taking several classes with Dr. Lani Fraziers and using her book has inspired me to implement social entrepreneurship within my classroom.
After reflecting on my personal and professional life, I have been able to better understand Social Entrepreneurship and introduced to my students what I have learned from Dr. Frazier and to educate students the importance of being a Changemaker at a local level and eventually in a global environment.

Global social structures are changing and there is an immense opportunity for social entrepreneurs to provide leadership in change making in order to solve some of societal problems. The social entrepreneur recognizes when part of society is stuck and provides a new way to get it unstuck (Drayton, 2006). The social entrepreneur is a change maker and according to findings by Dr. Frazier should possess a "teachable spirit", an attitude that experiences are a part of the lifelong learning process (Fraizer, 2011). As I embrace my journey as a social entrepreneur, I am learning to value my skills and experiential knowledge. Through the teaching of Dr. Fraizer, I am learning about the tools that are available for change makers especially with technology that allowing for global interactions.

The book provides definition on whom and what a changemaker is. The book also provides details on information communication technology. ICT has played a key role in establishing changemakers around the world. Changemakers are valuable tools to help address social issues and to bring about a change through social entrepreneur ventures to solve problems by changing systems. Dr. Fraizer has created this book to service as a guide to express the importance of changemakers and social entrepreneurship. This is a great resource to add to your library.
This polished, refined book may appear innocuous; but through the lens of one's passion to make this world a better place, Developing Lifelong Changemakers explodes into a kaleidoscope of possibilities. With the turn of each page, I reflect on my own changemaking experiences that have served to illuminate and multiply the pathway toward personal and professional transformation. What began as an academic endeavor in the midstream of life--obtaining a Masters of Education Degree--has now evolved into a multifaceted pursuit to recapture my passion for education and to share what I learn in order to make this world--our world--a brighter, better, and more equitable place for all. I am now a Workforce Development Advocate, a practicing changemaker, and an emerging social entrepreneur, learning how to integrate technology into my personal and professional work to bring about creative solutions to critical social issues.
As a direct result of the "changemaker education" (Fraizer, 2011) presented by Dr. Fraizer in my Masters Program, I have been propelled to the forefront of Information Communications Technology through using video teleconferences, Blackboards, Wikispaces, Skype, blogging, and email as effective and efficient technological tools to staying informed, and connecting and collaborating with fellow classmates. In addition, through video streams, I've been introduced to the seminal work of many inspirational leaders of changemaking and social entrepreneurship, such as Etienne Wenger, Simon Sinek, Sarah Kay, Seth Godin, Sir Ken Robinson, Seth Kahan, and many others.
Moreover, in a recent effort to design a preliminary plan of action to move an emerging community of practice (CoP) (Wenger, McDermott, & Snyder, 2002) from a possibility to a reality, I called upon key concepts introduced by Fraizer (2011) through her "changemaker education" including "...using my business skills to launch, manage, and lead social solutions for system-wide change" while, "...strategically leveraging ICT for cultivating relationships, raising funds, measuring success, and helping the business function at maximum potential" (p. 13). Developing Lifelong Changemakers is not only a call to action; it offers a "Lifelong Changemaker Framework" to assist practitioners in realizing and perpetuating their work toward making this world a better place.
