Even though Natasha seems unfeeling, she draws people to her like moths to a flame. Everyone loves her, she just needs to love herself! This was the best book I've read in a while. Can't wait for the continuing story!
It starts out with you wondering what is she doing!?! Then goes right into her life and story line. The main male character all I can say is can you send one to my address in Miami!! Hot... Natasha (female lead) is someone all through the story I kept wondering about. Alex (male lead) became someone besides being sexy he became someone that you actually really liked by the end. What I liked about the story was the fact that the supporting characters where funny and had things also going on in their lives. So I can't wait to find out what happened!! Great read. A
This book has it all!
Natasha is a strong, successful career woman in control of her life. In one of the first scenes of the book, she picks up a handsome man at an exclusive dinner/health club. After her initial statement of what she would like from him (a sexual dalliance with no strings)not a word is spoken between them. The author describes the encounter, showing Natasha's thoughts, feelings and yes, of course, the eroticism of the scene in such a well crafted manner that you are transported into Natasha. This scene stands out for me because it was written so well.
Natasha is good at her job, and her services in arranging events are recommended to the handsome,somewhat mysterious architect, Alexander Winter. Despite her efforts to resist his advances, his persistence wears her down. What follows are some of the hottest sexual scenes I've ever read.
Natasha's relationship with her two women friends gives the reader another aspect of Natasha's character in the interactions she has with them. At the same time there is some humorous dialogue. An element of danger weaves into the story when Natasha's friend Nicki confides that she is receiving odd text messages and fears she is being stalked.
The control Natasha cultivates of her life, work and relationships starts to show serious fissures when she discovers that she has fallen in love with Alexander. Her mysterious past erupts through the opening, ending her relationship with Alexander. Next a person from an earlier time in her life even physically attacks her.
There are threads in the book that have not been resolved when it abruptly ends in a life threatening, exciting scene. While endings like this frustrate me sometimes, in the case of Spartan, I find I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Troy, Sacha LaSalle's next book. A page turning read that I recommend!
All I have to say is WOW! I was lucky enough to beta read this book and boy did I read it (4 times). Natasha is dark, mysterious, private, and in full control of her actions (so she wants to believe). She doesn't give much away emotionally. Keeping her friends at arms length and those around her that try to break through her external barrier that she has built so well. Her armor is strong. Constantly holding back from putting herself out there, not wanting to feel. Then Alexander Winters walks into her life. He is tall, dark & handsome and has an arrogance about him and his focus is Natasha. With persistence he breaks Natasha down and she decides that she will handle his account in her job, and he pushes with just the right amount of charm. It appears they both have been damaged but they don't talk much it's all about passion. This story is mysterious and it keeps you guessing page after page. You want to love Natasha and you want to hate her. Alexander on the other hand, you can't help but fall in love with him with all his darkness and control. He really is good at getting what he wants and knows just how to go about getting it. Will Alexander be able to break down her walls or is she that strong. Lots of twists and turns to take you on a wild ride. Characters that keep pushing and pushing and trying to break into Natasha's heart. I can't wait to read book 2 Troy. Cliffhanger will make you scratch your head and wanting more.
